CI - 15.7 - Scott Lago
By Pat "the eYe" Bridges
The World Quarterpipe event is less a test of skill and snowboarding finesse than
one of courage and endurance. There are no stock contest runs when a roughneck
crowd of New Hampshire dirts line a runway strewn with empties, bonfires and
other throwable refuse. This environment is enveloped in the crowds echoing
chants of pussies. This is enough to turn the most hardened snowboarding pro to
Jello. Such is the arena that Scottie Lago entered as a rookie and exited the
2002 World Junior Quarterpipe Championships. Viva La Lago!
