Like Stef, the character Tom Cruise plays in the 1983 John Hughes-esque teen coming of age film, All The Right Moves, Chris Bradshaw has more than enough talent to hit the big time. But also like Stef, a few youthful indiscretions have sidetracked Bradshaw and made getting noticed and a shot at the big time a Herculean task. While every third-year jibber with a fresh frontside board, a three-chip digi cam and their parents’ gas card can hop on the jib circuit and scam their sponsor into buying them a video part, Bradshaw is lapping the Bear Mountain park by day and tucking in his 5-year-old daughter, Makaila, at night. Sponsors have come and gone while Bradshaw has remained the same.
Chris is hyper-talented—throw a jump in his path and he’ll tear it apart with a switch backside 9. The same is true for jibs, walls, and just about any terrain that can feel the wrath of a board’s base with or without the cameras rolling! However, this is starting to change now, as Finger On Da Trigger and other film companies have begun to recognize Chris’s potential.
Despite his seemingly endless birth in our sport’s shadows and his perpetual underdog status, Bradshaw doesn’t have an attitude. So long as he can lap Bear’s Gambler and fly his long hair/hip-hop colors, a subdued, sh%t-eating grin will emerge beneath his porno ‘stache.
