On Deck: Shayne Pospisil

At first glance, one might think Shayne Pospisil is just another SoCal surfer who took up jibbing while slipping the slopes of Bear. This would be a big mistake. Like so many before him, Pospisil hails from Garden State, the Jersey shore to be exact, and while this has helped him deal nicely with the ladies, it was the savage icy pipes of Vermont that molded him into the all-around rider of today. Shayne honed his skills at Okemo Mountain School under the watchful eye of coach Ian Kirk. Traveling all over the country competing and shredding different terrain coupled with the brutal day-to-day East Coast conditions taught “Pizzle” to handle anything put in front of him.

Recently, Shayne made the cross-country drive from the East Coast to California. Now he can be seen daily lapping the perfectly manicured pipes and parks of Mammoth with a heavy crew of up-and-comers including Cody Rosenthal, Scuba, Alex Serokin, Nate Farrell and Joe Eddy. Be on the lookout for Shayne, because you’ll be seeing this Jersey transplant for years to come.
