White Noise with Eric Jackson

If you grow up in Crowley Lake, California, you only have a couple of outdoor activities to choose from. You can fly-fish, or you can snowboard—otherwise, your post-schooling activities are rather limited. Fortunately for Eric Jackson, he decided to capitalize on the opportunities afforded by his locale, and fortunately for snowboarding, Eric was naturally good at riding. Under the guidance of older brother John (an über-pro in his own right), Eric learned the ways of the shred via the sled, disappearing into the Sierra Nevada backcountry for seasons at a time, eventually emerging as a full-fledged out-of-bounds powerhouse. With numerous standout parts with the Hatchett Brothers’ Standard Films, Eric has officially established himself as a larger-than-life natural-feature killer, and the beauty lies in the fact that E-Jack is fresh out of his teenage years. At twenty-one years old, Jackson is a literal newcomer and a figurative veteran, and you can be sure he’ll be leading the charge of the new vanguard of young talent that knows you don’t have to be on the podium to be on top. You can, in fact, go off-piste and still be on point.

Neil Young’s “Hey Hey, My My,” or “Cowgirl in the Sand” are perfect for any kind of shred. As a matter of fact, let’s just say all Neil Young should be listened to while shredding.

Best Video Part Song
When Lukas Huffman used “Gimme Shelter” by the Stones, it changed the way I looked at snowboarding. All his first-track shots were insane. I forget which movie it was, but it was one of my favorite video parts, for sure.
