Up For Grabs: Win Marie-France Roy's Snowboard Gear

In 2008, Marie-France Roy became snowboarding’s It Girl. On the heels of her groundbreaking part in Kids on Shred’s Any Means, MFR won Rider of the Year honors from both SNOWBOARDER and Transworld. Rather than sit back and soak it in or follow the same path that had garnered her such acclaim, Marie spent last winter far from the parks and rails that highlighted her Any Means part. Instead, MFR tackled a new challenge: the backcountry. The results of this initiative can be seen in Rome’s latest video No Correct Way. From BC to Russia, with perhaps one or two urban landscapes in between, MFR keeps her momentum intact as she produces what is sure to be another award-winning part. In an industry that continues to feed into the ethos that a female pro is only as good as her last podium, Marie shows that taking a vanguard approach can still pay off. In other words, when it comes to progressing our sport, there is still No Correct Way.

Now, the girl who once worked as a chambermaid in Whistler to support her addiction to shred gets to enable the riding habits of another by giving away her full setup. To find out how you can get your fix, click the enter to win button here.

Read below to see what MFR has to say about her snowboard gear.

Rome Lo-Fi 150
“This is my favorite board to ride for most of the season. It’s a high-end all-around board; really fun and light. It’s awesome for jumps.”

ThirtyTwo Ultralight
“The Ultralight is a really comfortable softer boot. They feel like slippers, but still give you the support you need without feeling like you’re wearing a ski boot.”

Rome Madison
“I’ve been riding the Madison for three years now, and it’s exactly what a good binding should be. It’s solid, light, easily adjustable, and it looks great.”

Oakley Straight Jacket
“It’s waterproof, really warm, and the fit is nice. It also has a removable inner jacket so you can adjust to any conditions out there.”

Oakley Airbourne Pant
“Oakley doesn’t screw around. They have several testing trips with the riders every year to make sure they come up with the best technology, so you won’t get your ass wet.”

Rome 99
“Rome seems to have mastered the art of gloves really quick. They now have several models for girls that offer an awesome fit and an awesome look.”

Oakley A Frame
“The A Frames are really comfortable on your face, and the lenses that they developed protect your eyes like no others on the market.”

Magical Go-Go Wax
“This company was started by the coolest couple there is. I feel like there is so much love for snowboarding involved in this company, and they make so many cool products, from tofu wax to all-natural lip balm.”

Cilla First Layer
“Combining comfort, functionality, and style all in one piece is what Cilla is about. Finally, you can get first layers that keep you warm and look amazing. They also use a lot of eco-friendly materials, and it’s made in Canada, so you really can’t go wrong with it.”

I would like to win this board because I'm a full time student and i don't have any money to buy a snowboard. I'd like to ask my mom to buy me one but she is already paying for my school and I don't want to ask too much from her because shes already doing alot for me. My friends always talk about going to the mountains and snowboarding. I'd like to join them one day. This would be my Christmas Wish.

Yeah i know there are a bucnh of people out there who really want this badly and why should i get it? i might not be the best snowboarder out there but it doesnt hurt to try, does it ? i know today alot of girls are looked down upon society on beacuse there compared to guys who are better than them. But, if i win this i wanna show the world that a girl can too be as good as a guy in snowboarding and ill prove everyone wrong.

i havent seen MFR in anything. in fact this up for grabs is the first time iv ever even herd of her. but at a glance she earns points because her name sounds like MF...R "motherfuck R". i know im a guy and she is a girl but my first set of pants were girl pants, i did not notice anything different compared to my mail designated pants im currently waring. why do they even bother separating girl snowboarding pants from guy pants. should they just be pants, there all too big to tell anywhay. if i get free gear im going to use it. i dont care if a big built for girls stamp is on the ass of them or whatever its all for the purpose of shreding your sNerfboard, on some pow. its the industry. they want dudes to think that they cant pick up the 80% off girl stuff and buy some guy pants for full price.

I think i should win the snowboard and gear because i have a passion for snowboarding. Snowboarding is defiantly one of my favorite sports. I would do snowboarding before i would play football. I could really afford all this new gear because the board i have now is falling apart and i out grew it. Hopefully you pick me and make me a very happy girl. i would really appreciate it and i wouldn't be able to buy all this with the money i have

Aloha from Maui! I would love to win this gear and would be so thankful if I did. I live on Maui, Hawaii and will be going to Park City Utah in February. I always rent my gear because I can't afford it. It's super expensive to fly from Hawaii. I'm hooked on snowboarding because it makes me feel so alive when I do it. I like to surf but love to snowboard because you feel like you are on a neverending wave. Mahalo!!!!
