Up For Grabs: Win Jeremy Jones' Snowboard Gear

Photo: Adam Clark

When you ply your trade in places with names like The Brothel, Grizzly Spine, and Shoulder of Death, you know you are a badass. The faces that six-time SNOWBOARDER Magazine Big Mountain Rider of the Year Jeremy Jones routinely schusses are steep, exposed precipices where any mistake could be fatal. In other words, double diamonds seem like bunny slopes compared to these Alaskan arteries. When Jeremy isn’t avoiding death out of bounds, he is fighting to keep the snow alive as CEO of Protect Our Winters, a non-profit organization dedicated to reversing the global warming crisis. Having explored the alpine on seven continents, Jeremy knows better than most that if current weather trends continue, we’ll all be bagging more last descents than first descents. It is a fact that you can’t drop too many fifty-degree shoots when it’s 100 degrees outside.

As if heading up a major environmental organization isn’t charitable enough, Jeremy has signed on to give one lucky SNOWBOARDER reader his full kit. So head to your local computer (ideally one of the solar-powered variety) and log onto snowboardermag.com. Click “enter to win", and you’ll be one step closer to getting the full Jeremy Jones experience! Then watch Jeremy in Absinthe’s new Ready, TGR’s Under the Influence, Brainfarm’s That’s It, That’s All, and Leeward’s My Own Two Feet to see how far you still have to go!

Read below to see what Jeremy Jones has to say about his gear:

Rossignol Jeremy Jones Experience 162
“This is the most versatile board I have ever designed. Whether it’s a Squaw Valley spring freestyle session, variable conditions in Europe, or bombing AK spines, this board has no limits.”

: Rossignol Jeremy Jones Experience BOA
“ Once you go BOA, there’s no going back. I was resistant to change, and insisted in offering my boot with both traditional laces and BOA. I tried the BOA once, and fell in love with the system. Being able to adjust and retighten your boots through the day is key. It’s evolution—laces are so nineties.”

O’Neill Team Series
“This is the best jacket I have ever had. Anyone who has ever used an O’Neill wetsuit knows O’Neill knows how to keep people warm in the harshest elements. This jacket lives up to that standard.”
O’Neill Superfreak pant
“This pant kicks ass. We took the Superfreak board short technology and brought it into the pants.”

Scott Motiv
“The key to a good goggle is not fogging. Scotts do not fog. Ever.”

Jeremy and I seem to both share a concern for the health of our winters. As VP of the WWU branch of the Surfrider Foundation, I'm working to save our winters through the Snowrider Project. One main objective of the project in my branch is to get a biodiesel school bus running from Bellingham to Mt. Baker every weekend. We are well on our way and should be saving emissions, fuel, and traffic by the start of this season. If I win this gear, I'll auction off some of the gear at our "On My Own Two Feet" video premier and donate the fund's to the Snowrider Project! Keep up the good work Jeremy! Since when does Jeremy Jones ride any of these sponsors? He only rides Burton Snowboards, not Rossignol, Scoot, and O'neil. Wow...

Well to be honest, My gear is beat down, I'm broke and got two kids with one on the way. therefore, the prospect of me ever getting a new board is slim and none. Worst of all I live in the northwest where is dumps like every day in the winter, and I'm stuck with gear that leaves me soaked and freezing by days end and a board that just doesn't perform. However, this doesn't stop me from going out and getting some! The mountain is my sactuary...and now with 3 screaming kids I'm going to need it more than ever!

I'm an Air Force father of two, and I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan . My daughter will be 4 in December and my wife and I are currently saving up to try and get her some gear. She's been begging us for a snowboard ever since she learned the word almost 2 years ago. I'm looking forward to returning in January and teaching my daughter to board. My wife and I love the mountain and would live up there if it weren't for the price of a lift ticket and if we didn't have to work to support our habbit. We look forward to making it a family thing this winter, and intergrate it into our family lifestyle. My wife and I both love boarding want new gear for ourselves but we feel we'd be better off investing another boarder on the ski slopes in Utah. I can make due with my old gear, no worries...it would just be killer to rock out some new gear to go with my daughters. Thanks for the opportunity to drop a line and brag on my kiddo.

I'd like this stuff

I think it would be cool to get this stuff becasue it will most likely unlock the super human abilities possesed by Jeremy Jones. This will allow me to become a household name thus enabling me to use my new found stardome to raise awareness of the fact that global warming is no myth. "my friends" when you ask yourself if Im the kind of "maverick" that can pull off this daunting task? The answer is "you-betcha" yes sir "you betcha"

My board got a little thrashed last season, it would be a sweet deal if I could get some new lumber to ride on this year!
Posted Thu Oct30, 2008, 4:23 PM — By hilary
all i want is to get my little bro back on his board. except his gear is thrashed and about 10 years old. a killer new set up would be all the inspiration he needs to kill it again.

I live in Victor Idaho and ride at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and backcountry spots around Jackson. I have been out of work for the past two months and can't afford new gear for this season. You know the environment I live in and play in everyday. I need this gear. Every year you create a rock board around these parts. Let me use your board how it's supposed to be used. Good looking out

I really don't mind riding my old gear (even though I "recycled" it out of the trash, like 6 years ago), but my girlfriend just bought the new Jeremy Jones board and I'm afraid she might be more badass them me if I don't get this kit.

My best friends son was crippled in a bullet bike accident at 19. I believe this kit would be his inspiration to live. After he was Paralyzed his GF left and his mom died. His situation is so hopeless that he has tried to commit suicide 3 times and has damaged his liver(the one good functioning organ he had left) He told me by blinking his eyes in morse code that if I could win this for him he would have one last fighting chance at life, I told him "don't worry bra, Jeremy won't let you down" He communicated to me "I know Jeremy won't let me down and I want to live so badly" He also conceived a little baby boy before he was hurt, he named him little Jeremy and calls him his "little grommie". Little Jeremy saw a SB magazine and cried "Jeremy's gonna save me and my daddy" Sure he will I told them, he's a great guy and surely would help someone in such obvious need!

I'm old and after I learned to board a couple of years ago, I thought I would go high end, so I bought a Burton Canyon. Now I realize that it sucks for everday, Southern California boarding. I am going to die sooner than the rest of the snowboard magazine community because everyone is so young here and I am old. Please let me enjoy the last few years (possibly days) I have left on earth riding a good board. My pension check won't cover the cost of a new setup.

Hi! This setup looks awesome and perfecto for me! I've spent the last year teaching English in Korea and I've been exposing my students to the bliss of snowboarding through pictures and video. Now I'm on my way back to my homeland of Montana and I'd love to be welcomed back to the mountains with this gift. Cheers!

A friend of mine has tried snowboarding many times and loves it. Problem is he does not get consistant rental gear. One day he will get a 160, the next a 145, so he has to relearn his gear all over each time. He boards at this hokey little local hill that lacks good equipment. He does not have enough money to purchase his own board, boots, etc., and since it is all about the gear, I would love to give this to him.

I think i should win the snowboard and gear because i have a passion for snowboarding. Snowboarding is defiantly one of my favorite sports. I would do snowboarding before i would play football. I could really afford all this new gear because the board i have now is falling apart and i out grew it. Hopefully you pick me and make me a very happy man. i would really appreciate it
