Well, SUPERPARK 11: Proving Grounds has officially come to a close, and we at SNOWBOARDER are hesitant to board our planes and leave this magical land called Keystone, full of good snow, good food and great beer.

Today was as fierce as yesterday with more riders dropping on more features. Boreal opened their massive hip, and it was the host of many gigantic airs. Capita’s T.J. Schneider was going huge, as well as Pat Moore, Nate Farrell, a handful of Scandinavians whose names I dare not attempt to pronounce, and Greg Bokencamp. Trust us, there were more, but you’re going to have to wait until Volume 20 hits newsstands to find out exactly what went down.

Speaking of things going down, a nameless rider did one of, if not the sketchiest, coolest and scariest things I have ever witnessed on snow. I will leave it at that, but just know that our photographers and videographers logged all of the action, and you may not believe your eyes when you see what went down.

The quarterpipe was planted for most of the day, as the legendary Peter Line, Eddie Wall, Austin Granger, Scotty Stevens, Tom Flocco, Scott Shaw and others palmed the lip in pursuit of the perfect plant. To the right, the wallride saw some action, as I personally witnessed McTwists, tail bonks, stalls, plants and a variety of other impressive tricks landed on that feature.

The Bear channel gap saw more spins than a wino in the Bronx, as riders were killing that feature all day. The Boreal jump was also being slaughtered on the hour, every hour, as riders carried more speed than most people have ever felt into the jump. Pat Moore, Chas Guldemond, Tim Humphries, Jeremy Thompson, Lonnie Kauk, Nate Sheehan, and others were throwing down on this enormous booter, and hoots and hollers were commonplace around the Boreal jump.

With the riders funneling out of town to end their winter and log some hours in the editing room, we here at SNOWBOARDER would like to thank everyone involved with Superpark 11: Proving Grounds. These people are, in no particular order: The Keystone crew; Megan, Lesley, Amy, Biz, Julian, Elliot and his crew of jump sculptors; The Bear dudes, consisting of: Clayton, Winslow, Tex, Dan, Desi and the awesomeness they produced out on the course. Last but not least, the Boreal crew, Eric, Colby and Hames for building some amazing features for all of the riders.

Thanks also, to all of the riders for coming out and killing it all weekend. We’ll see you next year, and don’t forget to pick up your own copy of SNOWBOARDER’S SUPERPARK 11: Proving Grounds issue hitting newsstands sooner than you think!
