Today was deemed “ Extreme Action Sports Lifestyle Day” by SNOWBOARDER photographer/writer Liam Gallagher, as we decided we would reap the benefits of being wicked popular in the snowboard world. Seriously, it’s ridiculous how popular we are. We started off the morning with some coffee at Inxpot Coffee Co. in the village and there was a goldmine of super famous pros there. Naturally, we schmoozed our way into their conversation for a few minutes. Andrew Hardingham, Dustin Craven and their Canadian counterparts were chatting wildly about Andrew’s new bar trick, birthed last night, called the “Air Mail.” Air Mailing is when one purchases a drink, eyes a cougar, then slyly slides the drink down the length of the bar and directly into said victim’s hands. From there, the game is yours and you can expect some hard Frenching action to follow. Anyhoo, we shot the poutine for a few minutes until we got bored, realized that there were more pros to mingle with, and continued on.

One thing that began to bother Liam and I was that every time we attempted to shake hands with the world’s biggest super-pros, our awesome credentials that let us do anything in the world kept blocking the desired hand to hand transaction. Man, did that suck. Then, we were forced to explain that we tried to shake hands with them, but our super sweet, law-omitting credentials got in our way. How embarrassing. It was then that we decided to hang our credentials around our necks, and outside of our jackets so that we were free to transact palms at our whim, all the while letting the world know that we were running the show. Simply brilliant, we thought.

Liam, Ben Fee and I headed up the gondola with Scotty Arnold (no big deal) and made our way to the public park, where the invited, mega-popular riders who we are super good friends with were heating up the jump line. We saw some phat action, but in all honesty, I was pretty busy trying to get pictures of pros to put on my MySpace, so I missed a bunch of it. However, I do have a list of radical highlights for you, and here they are:
-Hardingham and his Zinka-clad crew (all friends of ours) saying the weirdest and funniest things ever.
-Chas Guldemond (who likes us A LOT) destroying the jump and rail line.
-Curtis Sorenson (our close friend) going huge on everything.
-The Superpark 11: Proving Grounds course looking gigantic, awesome, and personally, pants-pissingly frightening.
-Greg Hahn (another awesome friend) stomping Cab 5’s that were the bomb.com
-Ben Fee (who everyone likes) shaving his face on the lip of the quarterpipe and then laughing really hard.
-Dustin Craven (yep, our friend too) hitting the first jump in the park on his snow bike that he brought from Canada in his checked luggage.
-Scotty Arnold and Hana Beaman (name drop? Yes.) being our friends.
-Zach Leach (newest friend of ours) pointing it through the mogul run and exploding in a fury of human on the last mogul at a clocked speed of Mach 9.

There are so many more riders to register, and rumor has it that many of them are coming tonight. I guess we’ll be busy making wicked famous friends all night. I’d better get dressed and make sure to wear my credentials so I can check back in and let you guys know how much cooler and popular we are tomorrow.
