Ms. Superpark Final Day
Tom Monterosso
The third annual Ms. Superpark came to a close today, and the riding was nothing short of phenomenal. One of the most progressive jumping days ever witnessed, the weather made for some picture perfect photos that can be seen in print in mere months.
The quarterpipe saw some action early, as the Runway crew, consisting of Elena Hight, Silvia Mittermuller, Hana Beaman, Jamie Anderson Leanne Pelosi and Anne Flore-Marxer threw down for the camera, while Dominique Valle wowed the onlookers with head high backside rodeos. Sara Phillips tossed a hand down on the lip while others followed suit until the early hours of afternoon.
The Mammoth crew set up yet another obstacle on the rider’s left transfer jump, tossing in an uphill box with a gap to the landing. Bryn Valaika was seen front boarding past the knuckle, while Summit at Snoqualmie Superpass winner Megan Ginter threw down a handful of sweet tricks all afternoon.
In the late afternoon, the right side of the transfer jump opened the doors for the progression of women’s riding. Marie France Roy got a few tricks, ending her day with a switch backside 7, stomped perfectly. Kimmy Fasani, one of the standouts and un-official Ms. Superpark guinea pig made the first transfer of the week, and tried a few backside 180’s, overshooting once and calling it a day with that fall.
