Superpark Day 2: The Session Begins
By Joe Prebich
Day two of SNOWBOARDER Magazine’s Superpark 10 went off like a shotgun! Riders wasted no time in getting down to business as the sunny skies of Colorado proved the picture perfect backdrop for some serious snowboard action.
Most of the riders warmed up in the morning on the Big Bear cheese wedges and by the early afternoon Keystone’s step-up, which yesterday had hardly been hit, quickly became a rider favorite. All day long guys were throwing down huge tricks off of the giant kicker with such heavy hitters as Danny Kass stepping up, as he kept things smooth as always with his signature style spins. And going through the washing machine today was Chaz Guldemond who stepped up today, and nailed a smooth 1260! Chaz was the man about the park as he cruised from one feature to the next. Chaz was definitely runnin’ down his dream today, and its safe to say they all came true when he stomped his 12!
A new feature for the day was Keystone’s 20x40ft wall ride. Riders took a break from the big booters to get their jib on and it turned into a huge session with even a little bit of Wall on wall action going on (Eddie Wall that is). Fastplants, laybacks, rock ‘n’ rolls, you name it.
All in all it was a great day to be snowboarding and everyone was hyped from the Keystone staff to the riders to the photographers. Day three is coming up tomorrow and many features still have not yet even been tested, which means it is going to get even heavier.
