Superpark 13 Mammoth: Day 4
3 days of big lips, fast laps, hot landings and high airs took their toll on the majority of the Superpark 13 presented by Gatorade attendants, leaving an abridged field on hill for day four. With less talent on tap, the invited industry members and media had the perfect opportunity to get some of their own.

Superparkers who showed up to Superpark 13 presented by Gatorade Day 3 were treated to the nicest conditions of the week, with blue skies and very little wind, it was go time.

Clayton Shoemaker and the Bear Mountain crew finally cut the ribbon on their main feature; a perfectly shaped half-bowl with hips into either side and a giant cheese wedge dead center in case you want to send it over the whole thing.

As far as action was concerned, the extra large Loon jump saw more hits than a battered housewife and the opening of the extra large hip was a ceremony not to be missed. These day 2 photos of Superpark 13 presented by Gatorade are well, super.

Superpark 13 Mammoth: Day 2 with Pat Moore
A massive hip finally reached completion after 37 straight hours put in by Pete Colombo and crew on day two of Superpark 13 presented by Gatorade. Once the call was made riders started low, creeping higher and higher up the drop in, and eventually were blowing past the 25-foot high Gatorade measuring stick. The hip itself is parallel with a 50-foot high lift tower to give you some perspective. We caught up with Jake Welch and Pat Moore at the end of the day to get a little insight on the hip "warm up" session.

Bangers got brought out into the open as Day 2 of Superpark® 13 Presented by Gatorade got underway. With standouts still showing why they got invited, riders were able to dig deeper in their bags and dial in some bigger moves.

Yesterday at Mammoth Mountain saw day one in the freshly sculpted Superpark® 13 Presented by Gatoradecourse, and a heavy warm up session on the 100-foot plus "Loonatic" jump crafted by our boys from back East at Loon Mountain, New Hampshire. We caught up with Yosemite's native son and one of the best riders out here, Lonnie Kauk for a quick recap of what went down on day one.

Hoards of riders are piling into Mammoth Lakes, California for the 13th annual Snowboarder Magazine Men's Superpark presented by Gatorade. Before the action gets too heavy, we went out and caught up with Oren Tanzer—the guy running the show here at Mammoth, as well as the Bear and Loon Mountain park crews who are manning the cats and sculpting this year's park.
