“JP…is on his way to that Legend title. The only reason he isn’t there yet is because Terje, for some reason, still has everybody confused and thinking he is almighty.”
-JP Walker interview introduction by Jeremy Jones, Arkade Magazine, Feb/March 2007
You’ve got to be a bad mofo to question Terje’s place in snowboarding, and Jeremy Jones is just that.
Along with heavyweight friends JP Walker, Mitch Nelson, Brian Thien, and Mikey LeBlanc, Jones and his squad of guerillas spearheaded a hostile takeover of snowboarding from the ground up. Representing REV and then Type A, Jeremy soon solidified his role in the snow world and landed pro models. Then, as he picked up a few more serious sponsors, it was time for him to really shine. His medium? Television screens worldwide.
Jones chose a path less traveled by most typical pros, opting to stay away from the contest circuit that was making most riders sit on one cheek due to fattening wallets. The gamble paid off almost instantly, and Jeremy was putting together mind-blowing video parts in no time. He first starred in the Kingpin classic The Warriors, and then joined up with fellow Forumites Peter Line and JP Walker as part of Mack Dawg’s modern-day tour de force. Cold porn addict Eddie Wall says, “I keep wondering when Jeremy is going to have a mellow year, but it never happens… From Warriors to Follow Me Around, he’s consistently slaughtered everything in his path.” Having joined Jeremy in 2004 on MDP’s Shakedown squad, Lukas Huffman concurred, saying, “Every year, he does something gnarly. [And that’s] coming from a ‘gnarly’ dude, [so] I know first-hand how it gets old. I have no idea how he keeps being so solid and well-rounded, year after year.”
Jeremy has never been afraid to ruffle some feathers, and maybe it’s his “Say what I want to say” attitude that has kept him around for so long. Or maybe it’s just the fact that he backs it all up, year after year.
