What does Biittner do as soon as he gets off that rope tow? Well he hits a flat box, then he hits a mailbox, and then he gets blunted down.

DC Mtn. Lab: Update with Aaron Biittner

I made my way up to the DC MTN. Lab yesterday with local SLC homeys Aaron Biittner and Forest Shearer. The weather was summery as hell—the sun was blazing and really warm. It felt more like Miami Beach than the ritzy outskirts of Park City but really the conditions were perfect for a day up there. We headed up casually at about noon, grabbed a snack inside the house where there are more snack options, food, and drinks than your local AM PM. Just make sure to take off those boots before you step inside or there will be consequencecs. After a quick bite and a beverage in the quarters we commenced the shredding.

The MTN. Lab has been in existence since about 2001, when it consisted of only a small jib setup in the front yard of DC Founder, Ken Block's large mountainside estate. The Lab continually grows in size every year, as bigger, better features are cycled into the mix. Thanks to one of the best snow years Utah has seen in a long while, the setup is fully firing right now at the Lab and boasting approximately 25 features. This includes but not limited to stumps, trees, log rides, rails, crazy boxes, wallrides, a hip, two moveable jumps, and a full-on rope tow. And better than that, there's no ski patrol policing your fun—nope, the good times roll freely at the Lab. And just a sidenote but Forest Shearer told me his friend who's an ultimate fighter or something lives down the road from the Lab and Michael Jordan has a house next to him which just makes the Lab's location even that much better—act like you're not down for Air Jordan.

So we lapped the day away on the rope tow and probably took at least one hundred laps, and then finally cracked a few cold ones and called it around six p.m. If you ever get the chance to ride up there, definitely go for it. It's always a rad time and the park is always on point thanks to Nick Olsen who runs the joint and his full time park staffer, Ron Yarrick—big thanks to those guys and the rest of the DC crew for having us out!
