Forum Snowboards and SNOWBOARDER Magazine Invade Mt. Baldy

Just outside of Los Angeles, CA is an epic resort that may surprise you. Mt Baldy is located only an hour from Santa Monica. After hearing that the Forum Crew was planning a shred mission to Mt Baldy we decided to drop in on this little adventure.

We started off blazing the Socal traffic to reach our destination and then we saw the treasures that this resort has been hiding. As Mt. Baldy appeared we couldn't believe that we were in Southern California. It seemed more like a picture from an Alps travel guide. As we reached the top, we were blown away at the landscape and it was "Game ON".

After making a few led burning runs the crew hit up a chair that had just opened up some untracked freshness. Our legs weren't ready but they quickly warmed up for our morning session. Evan Rose took the lead, showing us a few jems tucked away. The Powder was a little chunky at times but we found POW stashes all over the place. Baldy relies nearly 100% on Old Man Winter to produce the "White Gold", so it's not that often that Baldy gets a chance to reveal its killer terrain. Lap after lap, it turns into an unbelievable shred!

During your next visit to Mt. Baldy don't forget to take a few extra minutes to rap out with the local ladies running the Baldy lodge. Not only can they quench your thirst but remind you of a time and place that has long since passed.
