AIR & STYLE
12/13 - Jack Mahood
The steep and scenic resort of Seefeld played host to the 12th Air & Style Snowboard Festival this past weekend. Nestled deep in the Tirolean Alps of Austria, this banner Big Air event is a European shred tradition, bringing in a world-class field of riders and kicking off the season with a big-bang for scores of the sport's tour-pros. 2004 marks the last hurrah, the finale, the end of. And though we'll never see another Air & Style, this last one went down in grand style.
Lots of hella-hardcore Euro partying went down, complete with Glühwein, Jäger, and stinky, late-night discotheque antics. Out on the snow, brutal maneuvers were tossed off like last night's used-well, you get the idea.
After the cold-smoke settled, here's how the results looked.
1st Place: Shaun White
2nd Place: Nicolas Müller
3rd Place: Jussi Oksanen
4th Place: Mathieu Crepel
5th Place: Chris Kröll
White's winning move was the evil, super-sick, hecka-gnar, unstoppable Cab 900. For the record, this is the 5th time the event has been won with that trick. HOORAY!
