Superpark 12: The Son of Berserker is officially history, and it’s been one for the books. The weather was immaculate, blue and calm, and by day four all the stragglers had bailed and it was senders only on hill. Pat Moore started things off early, while the sun was still on the hip with mammoth airs (pun intended) that could have rivaled Heikki Sorsa, and Andreas Wiig was following him up with almost equally massive alley-oops. Kyle Clancy was nailing one foot combos over the transfer jumps up top, and Marie France-Roy put down about twenty sevens on that first left to right transfer.

On the 85-foot step down jump Lago put down a series of 10’s, a switch back Rodeo, the most layed out backflip we’ve ever seen, and stomped a double backie late 180, barely washing out, and all of it was being documented via a low flying helicopter filming for Travis Rice’s project due out next fall, That’s It, That’s All.

Brisse had sick switch back one switch Japan’s over the step down, and we’re claiming factual information that Jamie Anderson has jumped further than any other female in the game. Jamie was putting down backside 180’s deep into the tranny of the step down and going into switch front fives over the channel gap, and the best part about it was that it didn’t look like a miracle when she landed, solid everytime. We might just start calling Jamie the daughter of berserker.

As the sun began to dip behind the mountains a session started on the transfer/channel gap jump guinea pigged by Madison Ellsworth at just about 100-feet. Scotty Vine got a frontside nine, Dan Brisse and Pat Moore both went large getting fives over the beast, and summoning the spirit of the eagle; Lonnie Kauk nailed a deep back seven—so sick. A lot of riders in the game have very similar styles but not Lonnie; nobody rides like him and watching that guy snowboard is f—king awesome. Side note, Lonnie probably only fell once during the four days of Superpark, and not a bad fall, just enough to let people know that he’s human ... or at least let them think so.

In the end Superpark 12 proved to be, well, super. The airtime was aplenty, the injuries were few, and the riding was progressive as hell. All the jumps and features were immaculate thanks to the blood sweat and beers put in by the builders Clayton Shoemaker, Desi Hauer, Eric Rosenwald, Mike Gershner, Pete Colombo, Chris Zajez, and Danny Rossier. Thanks to all the riders who came out, and also a big thanks goes out to Michelle Tomaier for helping us get all the logistics dialed and of course Oren Tanzer and the rest of the Unbound park crew for making it happen.
