Day two of Superpark 12 here at Mammoth Mountain has officially wrapped. The weather was perfect, blue skies, warm but not boiling temps, and little to no wind — the perfect combination for sending. We saw a slew of heavy moves over the 80-footer today. Once that massive step down opened up, it got a train run on it real quick. It’s hard to keep up with all the action, and all the spins—so many spins. Torstein has sent 10’s over the beast, and Josh Feliciano came out of the woodwork with Rodeo 720’s—good to see that dude in the lineup. Lonnie Kauk was effortlessly floating truck driver 720’s over the beast, Gabe Taylor was still putting down smooth fives, and it seems like the best trick on the big ol’ 80-foot bad boy is still the double backflip nailed by Scott Vine on day one.

There was another heavy session going down on the channel jump situated directly after the ultra steep and long run out from the big jump. The channel jump sits at about 60 feet with a gaping chasm just after the twenty-foot tall wedge. There are so many good riders here its tough to call all the standouts, but Pat Moore was definitely handling business, as was Chas Guldemond, Cody Rosenthal, and of course big balls Lonnie. If we missed any riders on the “killing it” shout out, sorry, but it’s just plain airtime overload out there.

Day two ended with a session on the behemoth hip that had been roped off on day one. The first one I saw as I was rounding the corner was TJ Schneider blasting into orbit with a finely executed tailgrab, sans gloves or goggles. Chris Wimbles, Dustin Craven, and Sammy Luebke were all going extra large and cranking out methods. Scotty Lago might have gone the biggest unfortunately straight to the deck, somehow riding away unscathed. It was Vine Time again and the hip was no exception as Scotty nailed a gargantuan alley-oop 270—very cool. We’re pretty sure Scotty is trying to win Superpark. The compression on the tranny riding up was intense, if you got loose at all riding up through the G’s you stood a good chance of getting bucked, which was the unfortunate case when our boy Brett Butcher got launched too far to the side and dropped what must have been a couple stories to flat a la Jake Brown at the Summer X Games. Were not exactly sure what injuries big Brett sustained, but I heard he walked into the local sushi jump off, Sushi Rei last night so that’s a good sign. Hope someone bought that guy a large Asahi or something.

Check back with us tomorrow for another sick gallery and a wrap up from day three at Superpark 12, it’s still full game on out here and some sh*t is about to go down.

Check out Scotty Lago's transfer-to-wall ride from Day 1. It gets my most creative move of the day. Is Lago on his way to being Stand Out Rider at Superpark 12?
