2005 PBRJ RECAP

The 1st annual PBRJ Championships just went down on Saturday May 21st right in front of the Main Lodge at Mammoth Mountain. The sky was clear and the air was warm as the kids too the rails by storm. Around 100 competitors showed up from all around North America where they fought it out during the regular PBRJ events to earn a spot into the finals. The boxes and rails at this event were considerably more difficult than at the previous events, but what the heck, there was $10,000 up for grabs, and only those bringing their A-game were going to walk away with the cash, and a limited edition (only 9 made) Lib-Tech PBRJ trophy board. DJ Ted Shred spun the beats as everyone hung out around the compound at the bottom of the hill, chilling on bean bags and eating free bbq and peanut butter and jam sandwiches.

When the event ended, and the dust settled, Jamie Anderson walked away as the best girl of the weekend. Jesse Delgrosse won the 15 and under division, Jeremy Cloutier won the 16 and over division and James Thorne from England walked away the winner of the Open division. Thanks to everyone who came out. You can expect the Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Championships to be back in Mammoth next year, bigger, better and with even more prize money to give away. Let the Kids Ride Free!
