Capita Super Scary Snowboard Corporation held their world premier at the Showbox in Seattle Friday, Sept 21, 2007. Doors opened at 7:30 with the whole Capita pro team in attendance signing posters, kissing babies, and drawing tattoos. TJ Schneider, Dustin Craven, Tyler Lepore, Dan Brisse, Jonas Karlson, Scott Blom, Scott Shaw, Corey Smith and more were on hand to celebrate Capita's inaugural team video appropriately titled target="-new"First Kiss.

Eight bucks at the door provided more entertainment than a night at the Bunny Ranch. Three videos were shown, White Out Films Season Four, Sandbox Films Time Well Wasted, and Capita's First Kiss. Corey Smith's band threw down a wicked set, and local Seattle rockers The Girls headlined the night. Then came the highlight of the evening, the premier of First Kiss. Using my advanced degree in education I concluded that about 1,000 people attended the premier, seeing as the Showbox can only hold 1,000 people and the place was full it wasn't rocket science.

First Kiss is not like most other snowboard flicks. It's gritty, artful, and primarily filmed by one kid; Josh Baydala, with a few shots supplied by TJ, Blue, and other riders. First Kiss follows the team through out the season to Japan, Norway, and of course, Snowboarder Magazine's Superpark. All the riders had something special to contribute to the flick. Brisse progressed riding by landing a double cork, Dustin was planting on the Spire of Doom, TJ was schrelping powlows, and Tyler Lepore opened the flick in classic style. Even the Swede Jonas Carlson was bomb dropping off roofs. What makes this video great is that it's a collaborative project of the whole team. It's a true reflection of who they are and what they ride. It's an intimate visual escapade of Capita's team this past winter.

Lot's of snowboard industry heads made it out for the event. Legends Peter Line and Mike Ranquet along with current shreds Kevin Sansalone and Jesse Burtner were milling about, drinks were drank, sidewalk dogs were eaten, and everyone had a good time, except my head the next morning.

Thanks Capita Super Scary Corporation.
