Burton Am Series: Mt. Hood

The 4th stop of the series brought us to beautiful Mt. Hood Meadows Resort in Oregon for a President’s Day Weekend extravaganza. As luck would have it we were in the right place at the right time as we stumbled upon one of the best snow years on record for Mt. Hood Meadows as they were working with an incredible 15’ foot base and 4 straight days of blue skis and warm temperatures!

The Slopestyle event was held on Sunday in the famed “Rose City Park” terrain park that was buffed out to the nines by Paulino and his crew with a nice rhythmic jump line, two feature sections and a nice little quarterpipe to finish on! The Halfpipe event saw variations of huge straight airs with a nice slice of backto- back “spin to win” tricks thrown down by the likes of Spencer Shaw and Jesse Britt and numerous other young guns vying for the top spot…

We had some repeat customers in the field with the likes of Spencer Shaw and Mackenzie Matters who flew in for a second try after falling a bit short at the first stop of the series @ Copper Mountain, CO, however their efforts paid off as both athletes took home 1st place spots for Men’s and Women’s halfpipe!

First place finishers at the Burton AM Series walked away with a guaranteed spot into the US Open in Stratton, VT – March 17-23, 2008 along with $1000 cash and a Burton snowboard. Second place took home $500 cash, Burton bindings and Anon eyewear, while third place finishers secured $250 cash and a Burton bag.
