Empire
1111 St. Antoine 0,
thinkempire.com
Montreal, Quebec
Year Opened: 1999
Locations: 6

You may have heard of the famed Canadian contest “The Shakedown” before, but you may not have heard about the shop behind it all. Empire is the go-to boardin’ boutique for Québécois snow buffs, and with six different locations, they’re expanding their clientele almost as fast as their clothing shelves and snowboard racks. Proffering a powerhouse squadron of team riders in DCP, David Aubry, Annie Boulanger, Benji Ritchie, and up-and-comer Jason Dubois, the shop is legit by association. To top off the top-shelf talent representing Empire, they also employ the most knowledgeable and informed buyers and retailers in the land, so if you ever find yourself in and around our neighbor to the north and you need to conjure up a quick kit, swing in to Empire and maybe Régis De Macar will be on the floor to answer your every query. And don’t worry if you don’t speak fluent French—the salespeople at Empire are “buy-lingual.”
