Battle Wounds - Railed at Sunday River

1/26 - By Turkish

Well, this year was ok to me so far, until I dislocated my shoulder in Whistler/Blackcomb. After a furious week of rest, I suited up for my trip to Sunday River with a bunch of friends for a seven- day snowboarding excurstion. Sunday River is a beautiful mountain with a few good terrain parks. I hadn't done many rails in the past, but on the last day of the trip, I decided to grow a set and try some. I went all day doing rails - to my amazement without any bad falls - until the very LAST rail of the day. On a step-down rail halfway though, I tried to go from a 50/50 to a frontside boardslide, but all didn't work out as planned. As soon as I went to do the spin my board went left, falling off the side of the rail. Then, smartass me leans foward in an attempt to stay on the rail. All didn't go according to plan. My chin ate it on the rail and then my arms. My left arm got worked pretty bad, as you can tell from the pic. Welp, until next time. Damn rails.
