Battle Wounds - SMOKED SHOULDER

3/9- By Ryan Goicoechea

I started riding when I was a freshman in high school, before that I was a competitive aggressive skater. So, I recently was on a trip to Wintergreen, Va with some buddies when I decided I wanted to start hitting the park. There are three kickers in the park all lined up next to one another, the smaller ones on the outside and the big one in the middle (it's not that big, but can see some pretty sick air). So, I started at the top of the park, and without slowing down, I hit the middle one with some serious pop, and started me a sick tail grab 360. All is going well until I over rotate on the landing, catch a toe edge and smoke my right shoulder. I knew I broke my collarbone because of the way I bounced then slid. IT SUCKED. Well, it turns out all I did was dislocate it and I was able to ride all of February.

Many thanks to Burton CartelBindings and Sabbath Boots, Forum Snowboards and Protec Helmets for contributing to the Mayhem.
