Trick Tip: How to Frontside 1080 Melon with Jason Dubois
Learn how to do a frontside 1080 melon like a pro with a little help from minor threat Jason Dubois.
1. First of all, to do a frontside 1080, you need to listen to some music. Put some hip-hop on your iPod and get amped!
2. Find a perfect jump with good kick and a long table, because you need a lot of airtime to do three 360s in the air.
3. Ride towards the left side of the jump with good speed and get focused on your takeoff.
4. Make a little carve on your toes to go on the right side of the jump, and then switch onto your heels just before taking off. Turn your shoulders and your head and pop off your heels as hard as you can.
5. Start your spin with control and grab your board where it’s easiest for you.
6. Keep control of your spin—you need to know where you’re at all the time!
7. When you’re done with the first 720, start spotting your landing and be square for the end of the rotation.
8. When you land, keep looking at the landing, stomp on your toes, and just go straight down the hill.
