ON THE COVER: LNP is a French-Canadian jibbing juggernaut, and since his first appearance in this magazine a few years back, he has been setting the standard for pro riders who make their living hustlin’ in the streets. This cover is proof of his skill, but if you want more, check out Rome’s No Correct Way, coming this fall.

UP FOR GRABS: With Louie Vito

This twenty-year-old Ohio native has been a rider on the verge for five years now, and last season, Louie Vito quite literally raised his game by taking his pipe spins from the head-high 900 realm to the ten-foot-out 1080 zone, winning him the overall Grand Prix tour crown.

WELCOME TO PLANET JAPAN

“It didn’t only serve up huge picture-book sprays, but also soft landings for Marie-France’s rad bridge drop and Jamie’s kicker session with a river view.”

SUPER SESSION @ PARK CITY

“Torstein Horgmo, Dan Brisse, Bode Merrill, and the extreme skier kid were the first to take it to the jump. Although skiing sucks, there really is one good reason to keep skiers around—those fools love to chuck their meat over massive jumps before anyone else wants to hit them. This kid sent it from the get-go, and showed everyone how to go too fast.”

DROPPIN KNOWLEDGE:
How to Build a Box

"The best way to get the most snowboarding bang for your buck is to forgo buying lift tickets and keep the stoke close to home by building a box for your back yard. Some of the best riders in the game today honed their skills on homemade features. Similar to a mini-ramp, a backyard box can lead to sessions galore, not only helping your on-snow skills, but your bank account, as well."

WHITE NOISE: With Louie Fountain

If You Could Be a Rock Star: Johnny Cash. It sounds to me like he figured things out the hard way; it builds character. I’m sure he ended up in Heaven.

GOOD TRIP/BAD TRIP:
The Magic Bus Tour

“By Day Two, everyone had smoked the pipe. But Tahoe shredneck John Foy (a new addition to our crew) and Bokenkamp took the biggest hits and were waxing shred on another waveband. Snurf’s up in Tube City: synchronized shred-facing, with Bokenkamp airing twelve feet over Foy hand-planting.”

METHOD OF THE MONTH

“Methods are one of those timeless stylish tricks that are so unique in that everyone's method can be tweaked to look completely different. They look really easy but they can take years to perfect. The hardest part is getting your board horizontal but it’s one of the best feelings when you can ride away from one.”

You guys kick so much ass at Snowboarder Mag. man, and I don't mean like u guys kicks some virtual ass, but you guys kick all other magazines asses out of the water. I really love that you guys have you sections that always gives you little tips and way to build or do things in snowboarding. Well, I was wondering though if it would be possible to how to build fat ass jumps, aka show me how to make the blocks to build the jump. It has always been a thing that i want to learn because not only do I want to make snowboarding my life, but I hate building jumps for like an hour of just shoveling snow into a huge mound then packing it down with a shovel, and I want to be able to get some fat ass air man. So, thanks for the time if anyone does read this and I really wish you guys at Snowboarder could make it happen with the building a jump thing.
